Job Description

Job Summary

A Freight Rating Specialist is responsible for determining, evaluating, and managing freight rates and classifications for transportation services, ensuring compliance with tariffs, contracts, and carrier agreements

Responsibilities and Duties
· Good communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Strong computer skills
· Proven problem-solving skills
· Ability to follow direction
· Punctuality and consistent attendance
· Ability to work overtime as needed, or as directed by management
· Preferred minimum of 1 years’ experience in Freight Rating
· Must be able to set for long periods of time
· Ability to pass background check, TSA tests

Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of freight classification systems and tariff structures
  • Strong analytical and attention‑to‑detail skills for rate verification.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Classifying freight and determining appropriate rates and routes using published classification guides, rate tariffs, dockets, agreements, and carrier publications
