Overview

Tampa Microwave is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack & Fly Away satellite terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. Tampa Microwave primarily serves Federal and Department of Defense markets.

We are seeking to fill a Logistics/Inventory Control Manager position located in our Clearwater, FL location. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, Pack and ship Small and large (palletized) shipments CONUS/International.
  • Lead, supervise, train, mentor, & evaluate performance of all Inventory Control personnel.
  • Manage all stockroom, shipping & receiving activities, plus ensure accurate process documentation & adherence.
  • Lead & drive continuous improvement and cost cutting plans, actions and initiatives.
  • Coordination with Procurement & Planning Dept’s to facilitate appropriate inventory levels are in place to support Production requirements/needs.
  • Drive and maintain a high level of cleanliness & orderliness in all departments.
  • Responsible for monitoring & maintaining a high level of material transactions accuracy.
  • Responsible for identifying, root causing & resolving departmental discrepancies & errors.
  • Responsible for planning & executing facility inventories when/if required.
  • Responsible for planning and executing a robust cycle count process, complete daily cycle counts & reporting results.
  • Manage & monitor excess & obsolete inventory, disposal of obsolete inventory items.
  • Instruct stockroom personnel when and where to return defective or non-stock items, monitor returned goods in the warehouse and ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in ERP systems and other technologies as required.
  • Develop, manage, & update weekly/monthly performance metrics, report to leadership.
  • Other responsibilities as required.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include workforce/staffing plans, ensuring staff is performing to expectations, interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; preparing performance appraisals, rewarding, and providing for employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active mentoring and development of staff is critical element of the supervisory responsibilities. Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures


Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire if required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role and in a related manufacturing business environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 5 to 10 years relevant or equivalent experience.
  • A thorough understanding of an ERP system, inventory control, and transaction processing. Good working knowledge of ITAR and foreign license requirements.
  • Experience with Lean, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma tools
  • Strong analytical, mathematical or data analysis bias.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (Minimum Intermediate Level) &, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to lead and drive process improvement initiatives and overall continuous improvements.
  • Must be flexible in adapting to changing environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed by the business to support customer’s needs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Ability to lift and move totes, shipping cases up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above shoulder level.
  • Walking in the facility and around the area with great frequency.
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and be able to access all areas of building without limitations.
