ADA Lift Rentals of America, a division of Southeast Elevator, LLC, provides temporary wheelchair lift solutions for indoor and outdoor events nationwide. Our certified technicians install, service, and maintain portable lifts that meet or exceed ADA accessibility standards, helping venues and event organizers provide safe and inclusive experiences for all attendees.

With more than 10 years of specialized experience in event accessibility, we have supported thousands of events and major national projects, including the NFL Super Bowl, Lollapalooza, Kentucky Derby, Daytona 500, and many others.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Service Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of ADA-compliant portable lifts and related equipment.

This role requires extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Equipment Operations

• Safely load and unload lifts from ADA trailers and transportation trailers.
• Assemble, install, and position portable ADA lifts at event sites.
• Transporting Equipment. Be able to drive a truck and trailer and adhere to DOT Regulations.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections of trucks, forklifts, and related equipment, including checking fluids, brakes, tires, and other critical components.
• Scan and track lift equipment using barcode inventory systems.
• Properly secure equipment and loads during transportation and installation.
• Identify and report workplace hazards, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Electrical & Mechanical Service

• Troubleshoot electrical faults using diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters and multimeters.
• Diagnose and repair electrical wiring and related components.
• Follow applicable safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, and local codes and regulations.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.

Documentation & Technical Support

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics.
• Accurately document service activities and completed work orders.
• Maintain accurate equipment and service records.
• Communicate equipment issues, repair requirements, and job status to supervisors and team members.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to diagnose problems using appropriate testing and measurement equipment.

Tools & Equipment

• Proficient and safe use of hand tools and power tools.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment, including voltmeters and multimeters.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a multi-year apprenticeship, technical training program, trade certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• Experience in electrical, mechanical, equipment maintenance, elevator/lift service, HVAC, industrial maintenance, construction, or a related trade is highly desirable.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to safely lift and handle heavy parts and equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, bend, and work in confined or cramped spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required by event schedules.
• Ability and willingness to travel to event locations nationwide.
