Community Mental Health Support Therapist (Bachelor’s Level)

Location: Henry County
Work Setting: Hybrid — In-home and tele-health services

We are seeking a Community Mental Health Therapist to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide ongoing, evidence-based outpatient psychotherapy through regularly scheduled sessions, focusing on symptom reduction, emotional wellness, skill development, and progress toward individualized treatment goals. Services are delivered using a client-centered approach grounded in CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care.

This position includes providing home-based and community-based therapy as part of a program designed to expand access to behavioral health services by delivering care directly in clients’ natural environments. You will work collaboratively as part of a coordinated care team alongside a Lead Therapist and Family Mentors to support children, adolescents, and families in achieving meaningful and sustainable progress.

Position Overview

As a Community Mental Health Therapist, you will provide individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. You will work alongside a lead therapist and family mentors, caregivers, and community supports to ensure coordinated and consistent care.

In this role, you will deliver therapeutic services in home and telehealth settings, reinforce treatment goals, and support the implementation of clinical interventions that help families build skills and achieve meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Support clients experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
  • Reinforce treatment goals and therapeutic interventions developed by the Lead Community Mental Health Therapist.
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Support cross-system interventions with caregivers, natural supports, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of sessions and progress.
  • Work closely with Family Mentors and the treatment team to support client outcomes.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Child Development, or related field. Would consider candidates with 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families with a bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families in behavioral health, education, or community-based settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation to travel to client locations.

Schedule Requirements

Availability is required for four weekdays and one weekend day each week. Work hours generally fall between 12:00 PM–8:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM–6:00 PM on weekends, based on client needs.

Compensation & Work Structure

This position includes both direct and indirect client care responsibilities. This position includes both direct and indirect client care hours. Direct client care is compensated at $35.00–$40.00 per hour and typically averages 22–25 hours per week. Indirect client care, including documentation, travel time, care coordination, supervision, and training, is compensated at $17.05 per hour and typically averages 10–15 hours per week.

Direct Client Care includes time spent providing individual and family therapy services in clients’ homes or via telehealth, as well as cross-system interventions with caregivers, natural supports, and interdisciplinary team members.

Indirect Client Care includes documentation, travel time between client locations, care coordination, clinical supervision, and training/professional development activities. Mileage is paid at the IRS recommended rate.
