Job Summary
This position exists to support the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities by assisting healthcare providers and delivering delegated clinical care during patient visits within a patient-centered Medical Home model.
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a key role on the care team by supporting coordinated, team-based, whole-person care that is accessible, continuous, culturally responsive, and focused on quality, safety, and positive health outcomes; contributes to efficient visit flow and high-quality care delivery by preparing patients, performing clinical intake and delegated tasks, and supporting providers throughout examinations and procedures while maintaining patient safety, dignity, and privacy.
Essential Functions
- ·Supoort and participates as a member of the core clinical team.
·Prepares for patient visits by reviewing the electronic medical records for labs, test results, referrals, and identified care needs
· Performs patient intake, including vital signs, screenings, and medical history, consistent with level of training and demonstrated competency
· Prepares patients and exam rooms to ensure readiness, safety, and adherence to infection prevention protocols
· Assists providers during examinations and procedures while maintaining patient safety, dignity, and privacy
· Performs delegated clinical tasks and procedures under the direction of licensed staff, progressing in complexity as competency is achieved.
· Provides patient education and reinforces provider instructions, adapting communication to patient understanding and cultural considerations
· Supports care coordination by assisting with labs, referrals, follow-ups, and transitions of care within established workflows
· Monitors patient flow, prepares for upcoming visits, and supports efficient clinic operations during patient care activities
· Communicates effectively with patients regarding visit status, delays, and care instructions
· Assists with patient movement, transfers, and coordination between departments as needed for care delivery
· Documents all patient care activities accurately in the EHR in accordance with clinical standards, training level, and regulatory requirements
· Demonstrates progression of clinical skills and competency through participation in required training and apprenticeship activities, performing tasks within validated scope

. Minimum Requirements
- Completion high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Commitment to Certification Required – Training Provided: Candidates must complete a Medical Assistant certification program to qualify for this role.
