At Marieke Gouda, we make award-winning handcrafted Gouda right here in Thorp, Wisconsin—and getting that cheese where it needs to go is a critical part of our business.
We’re looking for a Shipping & Receiving Manager who wants to take ownership of that operation. You’ll lead the team responsible for receiving, inventory movement, finished goods, and getting customer orders out the door accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on management role with the opportunity to lead people, improve processes, strengthen inventory accuracy, and build a highly organized and efficient Shipping & Receiving operation.
If you’re the kind of leader who notices when something isn’t working, digs into why, and brings people together to make it better, you’ll fit well here.
What You’ll Own- Lead, coach, schedule, and develop the Shipping & Receiving team.
- Manage daily inbound receiving and outbound shipping operations.
- Own inventory accuracy throughout receiving, staging, storage, finished goods, and shipping processes.
- Ensure inventory movements are accurately and timely recorded.
- Oversee receiving, picking, packing, labeling, palletizing, and shipping.
- Plan workload around deliveries, order volume, product availability, and customer commitments.
- Manage carriers, pickups, deliveries, freight methods, and shipping costs.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, damages, and delays and correct the root cause.
- Partner with Operations, Packaging, Aging, Sales, and Customer Service to keep product moving.
- Improve processes, workflow, organization, accuracy, and productivity.
- Maintain food safety, traceability, SQF, HACCP, and GMP requirements.
- 3+ years of shipping, receiving, logistics, distribution, or warehouse experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and hold a team accountable.
- Experience with inventory systems, shipping platforms, and carrier management.
- Strong organization, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Food manufacturing or perishable-product experience is a plus.
- SQF, HACCP, GMP, or food safety experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in cold-storage and warehouse environments as needed.
Your team knows what is expected and works together to get the job done. Inventory is accurate. Product is where it belongs. Orders leave accurately and on time. Problems are identified and solved instead of becoming recurring issues. And you’re continually looking for ways to make the operation better.
If you’re ready to take ownership of a key part of our operation and lead a team that directly impacts our customers every day, we’d love to hear from you.
