Position Summary
Position: Pre Owned Car Sales Associate
Classification : Full Time; Exempt (Commission Base)
Reports To: General Manager
Work Location: In person; South Houston near I-45 and Beltway
About the Role:
The Pre Owned position is pivotal in driving the success of our automotive retail operations by effectively connecting customers with the ideal new vehicles that meet their needs and preferences. This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive market, product knowledge, and the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse customer base. The primary goal is to guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to final purchase, ensuring a seamless and positive buying experience. Success in this role directly contributes to achieving sales targets, enhancing customer satisfaction, and fostering long-term relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals. The New Car Sales professional acts as a brand ambassador, representing the dealership with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm in every customer interaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in automotive sales or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Experience with automotive financing and leasing processes.
- Familiarity with CRM software and dealership management systems.
- Certification in automotive sales or customer service training.
- Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage customers promptly and professionally as they enter the dealership or contact us through various channels.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments to understand customer preferences, budget, and intended vehicle use.
- Present and demonstrate new car models, highlighting features, benefits, and financing options tailored to each customer.
- Negotiate sales terms and prices while maintaining dealership profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with finance, insurance, and service departments to facilitate smooth transaction processing and vehicle delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current promotions, inventory, and industry trends to provide accurate information.
- Follow up with prospective and existing customers to nurture relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Document all sales activities and customer interactions accurately in the dealership’s CRM system.
Skills:
The required skills such as communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for building rapport with customers and understanding their needs effectively. Negotiation skills are used daily to reach mutually beneficial agreements that satisfy both the customer and dealership objectives. Product knowledge and market awareness enable the salesperson to confidently present vehicle features and benefits, addressing customer questions and concerns. Organizational skills are critical for managing multiple customer interactions, follow-ups, and documentation accurately within the CRM system. Preferred skills like familiarity with financing options and bilingual communication enhance the ability to serve a broader range of customers and streamline the sales process, ultimately contributing to higher customer satisfaction and increased sales performance.
Relevant Work Experience & Other Requirements:
- Must meet dealerships requirements for employment which include background check and drug screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable based on driving record.
- Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Must be punctual and reliable.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/ or walk for extended periods of time
