SSA Marine is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join our Lynnterm team. This full-time, permanent position is based out of our office in North Vancouver and reports to the Divisional Controller.

The Position

The Billing Coordinator is responsible for the accurate, timely, and complete billing of cargo handling, terminal, and related services. As the subject matter expert for cargo billing, this position ensures invoices are prepared in accordance with customer agreements, operational records, and company policies while supporting revenue accuracy, month-end close, and exceptional customer service. The Billing Coordinator collaborates closely with Operations, Business Development, and Finance to resolve billing discrepancies, improve billing processes, and maintain the integrity of billing data.

You will be part of a motivated and diverse team and will have a high degree of interaction with all employees throughout the organization.

Responsibilities & Activities

Prepare accurate and timely invoices for cargo handling, terminal, storage, and related services. Verify contract pricing, terms, and billing details with the Quoting Coordinator to ensure invoice accuracy. Review operational records and billing data to maintain billing accuracy, completeness, and revenue integrity.Maintain customer billing information and supporting documentation within company systems. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with Operations, Business Development, customers, and other stakeholders. Support month-end billing activities and ensure accurate revenue reporting within established deadlines.Act as the primary contact for customer billing inquiries, providing professional support and invoice clarification. Drive continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements, maintaining billing procedures, and working cross-functionally to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

The Billing Coordinator regularly partners with Operations, Business Development, Finance, and customers to resolve billing issues, validate information, and ensure accurate invoicing and revenue integrity. They serve as the organization's billing subject matter expert, providing customer support and driving continuous improvements to billing processes, while working in a hybrid environment that requires a high level of concentration, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical month-end deadlines.

The qualifications and skills to be successful in this position include:

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.Experience with complex billing, revenue administration, and customer invoicing processes. Industry experience in marine terminals, stevedoring, transportation, warehousing, or logistics is an asset. Knowledge of cargo documentation, bills of lading, and manifests is considered an asset. Strong understanding of billing principles, revenue administration, invoice reconciliation, and billing systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with customers. Ability to interpret complex billing requirements, analyze discrepancies, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
