This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Vice President Vendor Partnerships & External Performance based in United States.
This senior leadership role will shape enterprise-wide vendor partnerships and external performance strategies within a complex healthcare revenue cycle environment.
You will oversee approximately 125 vendor relationships, ensuring partnerships deliver measurable value, strong performance, and strategic alignment.
The role combines vendor strategy, contract negotiations, technology evaluation, financial analysis, and enterprise performance improvement.
You will work closely with executive and revenue cycle leaders to establish priorities, track progress, and advance strategic initiatives.
A significant focus will be placed on identifying technology, automation, and external solutions that improve operational performance.
You will also lead and develop teams, manage budgets, and influence change across multiple functions and business units.

- Partner with revenue cycle leaders to establish clear, achievable goals aligned with organizational priorities, strategic growth, and performance improvement.
- Develop and maintain frameworks, tools, and reporting mechanisms to track progress, performance, and strategic outcomes.
- Research emerging industry solutions, technologies, and automation opportunities that can enhance operational efficiency and performance.
- Identify, evaluate, and vet potential vendors and external partners based on business needs, capabilities, value, and strategic fit.
- Lead vendor negotiations and oversee contracts through execution, ensuring favorable commercial terms and appropriate risk management.
- Provide enterprise oversight for approximately 125 vendor partnerships, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor vendor performance, financial outcomes, and return on investment, working collaboratively with partners to address performance gaps and improve results.
- Lead the Vendor Partnerships & External Performance function, establishing objectives, priorities, operating processes, and performance expectations.
- Recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and teams while supporting succession planning and ongoing talent development.
- Establish consistent performance management, feedback, recognition, and continuous improvement practices across the function.
- Develop or recommend operating and capital budgets and manage expenditures within approved financial objectives.
- Influence executive stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives that produce meaningful organizational change and measurable performance improvements.
- Ensure decisions and team activities comply with applicable policies, regulations, laws, ethical standards, and organizational requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Legal/Contract Negotiations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle, healthcare operations, healthcare technology, consulting, or another performance-driven environment.
- At least 5 years of experience leading enterprise-level initiatives involving strategic planning, performance improvement, vendor management, financial decision-making, or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience with vendor selection, contract negotiation, relationship management, and performance oversight.
- Proven ability to evaluate financial outcomes and return on investment and use data to guide strategic decisions.
- Significant leadership experience managing managers at Director level or above, or leading complex cross-functional teams with substantial organizational impact.
- Strong track record of influencing executive-level stakeholders and driving change across multiple functions, departments, or business units.
- Deep understanding of healthcare technology, industry solutions, performance improvement opportunities, and emerging technologies or automation.
- Strong strategic thinking, goal-setting, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and leadership messaging skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and articulate complex strategies clearly.
- Strong negotiation, vendor evaluation, contract management, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or Legal/Contract Negotiations is preferred.
- Base compensation of $86.75–$138.80 per hour, with the actual offer based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training.
- Full-time, benefits-eligible position with a 40-hour Monday–Friday schedule.
