About BBE

BBE is a Canadian-owned logistics company trusted to deliver in complex, time-critical, and high-consequence environments. Our customers operate in remote regions, regulated industries, and situations where reliability matters more than volume. They rely on BBE because we think ahead, take ownership, and deliver with precision, often in conditions where there is no margin for error.

At BBE, people are empowered to make decisions, take accountability, and work collaboratively across teams and partners. If you are motivated by responsibility, problem-solving, and work that has real-world impact, you will feel at home here.

The Role

Job Title: Junior Distribution Coordinator
Department: Procurement
Location: Edmonton
Reporting To: Procurement Team Lead

As a Junior Distribution Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting BBE’s operations and customer commitments. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt as conditions change. This role is a subject matter expert for specific product categories, ensuring procurement decisions align with business needs, quality standards and budget constraints. This role is responsible for optimizing the flow of goods from suppliers or production facilities to end customers, ensuring accurate, timely and cost-effective delivery. You are also accountable for product knowledge and providing exceptional customer service and support.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned product categories within the procurement function.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, sales) to define product specification, forecast demands and support procurement planning.
  • Monitor product availability, delivery timelines, and inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Support developing and maintaining procurement policies, processes, and systems to optimize efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the procurement analytics team to track KPIs and report on category performance, cost savings, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact customer expectations.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders in accordance with final negotiations with selected suppliers and organizational targets and requirements.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve issues with price, quality, delivery or invoice.
  • Other duties may be assigned occasionally as required.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or product management (specific category experience is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and supplier relationship management.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced or changing environments
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Willingness to adapt and learn as priorities evolve

Why Work at BBE

  • Work that supports essential supply chains across Canada
  • Exposure to unique operations, including remote and regulated environments
  • A culture built on trust, accountability, and respect
  • Opportunities to grow through meaningful responsibility
  • A team that values partnership with customers and with each other
