About the Role
The UX Assistant Researcher supports the planning, execution, analysis, and delivery of human factors and user experience research studies. This role will primarily focus on executing qualitative research and moderating participant sessions, including user interviews and usability studies. The UX Assistant Researcher will collaborate closely with UX Researchers and Research Leads on client-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and prepare research and information needed for studies.
Moderate qualitative 1-on-1 research sessions on site, lasting 60 to 90 minutes per session.
Ensure all equipment and study material is prepared, maintained, and used/executed as necessary.
Capture detailed notes, observations, recordings, and other study data during participant sessions.
Contribute to the creation of detailed research reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
Maintain accurate and organized study documentation throughout all phases of the research process.
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in the field of user research.
Experience with research methodology and techniques from fields like Human Factors/HCI, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, or Industrial Design. Some exposure to (or interest in) scientific research and methods preferred.
BS/BA preferred.
Interest in UX Research, HCI, and qualitative research in general is required.
Strong aptitude for learning new skills. Ability to quickly learn about new consumer technologies, and to discuss those in a research setting.
Attention to details and data.
English fluency.
Ability to work regular hours on site in Kirkland to conduct sessions.
Hourly Rate
$25.00 an hour.
