Qualifications

RS&H is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team. This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule. As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by serving as a team expert and/or project lead; preparing project specifications and complete project documents, analysis, and reports; analyzing and interpreting data; performing analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts; designing complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes; preparing project documents, engineering analysis, and reports; performing quality control reviews and ensuring achievement of key milestones; and performing field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects. This position may also provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration, manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams to ensure company and project contractual compliance, and/or manage a small team of direct reports.

The ideal candidate has drainage engineering expertise including:

  • Urban roadside drainage design
  • Rural drainage design
  • Airfield drainage Design
  • Water Quality Design following MHFD
  • Drainage or Water Quality Master Plan
  • SWMP/ CBMP/ GESC or similar erosion control plans
  • Experience with CDOT and/or MHFD specifications and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a leader delivering water resources engineering and drainage services for CDOT and other clients within the mountain Division
  • Design of storm sewer systems, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, and open channel systems
  • Actively manage drainage and water quality tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary project team including schedule, scope, and budget
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects
  • Mentor junior engineering associates
  • Administer quality management plans and perform thorough, detailed reviews of project deliverables.
  • Assist in business development responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities

Qualifications:

  • ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • CO PE Licensure, or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience including proven technical leadership (decision-making on technical matters)
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and/or StormWise (formally ICPR)
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and can effectively interact and build strong relationships with team members, clients, and other key stakeholders
