The FinOps Engineer will play a key role in optimizing cloud financial operations across complex technology environments.
This position focuses on improving cloud cost visibility, governance, forecasting, and efficiency through data-driven strategies.
The role bridges engineering, finance, and procurement teams to create scalable cost management practices.
You will contribute to cloud economics initiatives by analyzing usage patterns, identifying optimization opportunities, and enabling better decision-making.

The FinOps Engineer will be responsible for managing cloud cost optimization initiatives, improving financial visibility, and supporting teams in making efficient technology decisions. The role requires strong collaboration across technical and business stakeholders to establish sustainable FinOps practices.
- Manage cloud cost optimization activities, including cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and governance across multi-cloud environments.
- Execute FinOps lifecycle activities across the Inform, Optimize, and Operate phases using cloud cost management tools and best practices.
- Design cost models, tagging strategies, allocation frameworks, and reporting structures to improve cloud spending visibility.
- Analyze cost anomalies, budget variances, and inefficient resource utilization to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Develop showback and chargeback models, dashboards, and verification strategies to support financial accountability.
- Build systems for aggregating and analyzing cloud billing and usage data across the organization.
- Evaluate infrastructure and architecture changes to ensure continued cost efficiency through forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Partner with engineering, finance, procurement, and technical teams to communicate trends, savings opportunities, and optimization recommendations.
- Support Agile team processes, including daily planning, progress reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of cloud infrastructure knowledge, financial analysis skills, and experience applying FinOps principles to optimize technology environments. Strong communication and analytical abilities are essential for success in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related technical field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing cloud cost optimization, financial operations, or cloud infrastructure analytics.
- Strong understanding of FinOps methodologies and cloud cost management practices.
- Experience with cloud billing analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and resource optimization.
- Ability to build cost allocation models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical data into business insights.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, finance, and procurement stakeholders.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure architecture, and usage optimization strategies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain cost trends and recommendations.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification is preferred.

- US salary range: $160,800 - $193,000 USD.
