Job Description

Mortgage Support Coordinator

Help customers move confidently from application to closing.

At Western, we believe exceptional banking begins with people who take ownership, work together, and genuinely care about the customers and communities they serve. Our team is built on service, accountability, respect, and a shared commitment to providing accurate, responsive, and dependable support.

Western is seeking a detail-oriented, service-driven Mortgage Support Coordinator to join our mortgage team. In this role, you’ll help keep mortgage loans organized, accurate, and moving forward by supporting customers, Mortgage Loan Officers, and internal partners throughout the lending process.

You’ll play an important part in creating a smooth customer experience—collecting documents, tracking disclosures, updating loan information, coordinating closing details, and following up on open items. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, managing multiple priorities, and making sure the details are handled correctly.

What You’ll Do
  • Support mortgage files from application through closing.
  • Collect, review, and track customer documents, applications, signatures, disclosures, and fees.
  • Enter and update accurate loan information in mortgage systems and tracking tools.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, deadlines, disclosure timing, and closing dates.
  • Follow up with customers and internal partners on missing or incomplete information.
  • Coordinate closing appointments, documentation, and related details.
  • Serve as a helpful secondary contact when Mortgage Loan Officers are unavailable.
  • Identify documentation gaps, timing concerns, or customer issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready loan files.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, cross-training, and process improvement efforts.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in mortgage lending, real estate, financial services, lending support, or a related administrative operations role.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, requests, and follow-up items.
  • Comfort learning and using mortgage systems, spreadsheets, email, work queues, and standard office technology.
  • A positive, team-focused approach and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Preferred Experience
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Mortgage lending, loan processing, loan documentation, real estate, or customer service experience.
  • Experience tracking disclosures, pipeline deadlines, closing details, fees, or loan documentation.
  • Experience working in a community bank or regulated financial services environment.
What Success Looks Like

You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, protect confidential information, and follow through on commitments. You understand when a routine issue can be resolved independently and when additional guidance is needed. Most importantly, you help customers and team members feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the mortgage process.

Why Western?

At Western, we value service, ownership, accountability, teamwork, respect, accuracy, and sound judgment. You’ll join a collaborative team where your organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail will directly support customers, loan officers, and successful closings.

Eligible team members may receive:

  • Competitive compensation based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market location.
  • Participation in Western’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan, subject to plan requirements.
  • 401(k) and company contributions.
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
  • Paid time off, paid holidays, and leave programs.
  • Wellness resources, professional development opportunities, banking benefits, and employee assistance programs.
Work Environment

This position is generally performed in a professional office or mortgage operations environment during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Some overtime or travel may be required based on business needs.
