Role Summary: A Guillotine Cutter Assistant supports the operation of guillotine cutting machines to trim, cut or shape materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic sheets or sheet metal. This role is common in printing, packaging, manufacturing and related industries, and typically involves working under the supervision of a Cutter Operator or supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in setting up guillotine machines for cutting according to production orders, adjusting cutting according to production orders, adjusting cutting specifications and ensuring proper material alignment.
• Identify incoming materials, store them in designated inventory areas, and prepare them for cutting.
• Operate the guillotine to produce accurate, clean cuts as directed; trim finished goods after die cutting operations.
• Inspect cut materials for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet production standards.
• Monitor machine performance, report any issues or deficiencies to maintenance and assist with routine upkeep.
• Forward cut materials to the next production stage in a timely manner; maintaining a clean organized work area for safety and efficiency.

Additional Duties
• Maintain housekeeping in and around gluers
• Ability to perform sorting of non-conforming products
• Perform preventive maintenance as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Safety Policies and Practices:
• Follow all Plant rules, Processes, and Hygiene procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
• All employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes while in the manufacturing area. Sound protection is required in designated areas.
• Keep work area clean and organized: remove scrap, sweep, and maintain clear walkways in accordance with housekeeping standards.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have mechanical skills, be accurate and precise, ability to use ruler, able to lift 75 lbs. or less, and be a problem solver. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision.

Must be able to understand, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.

Schedule:
• Full time position; 1:00pm – 9:30pm (2nd Shift) Mon- Fri
• Overtime, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
