Funds Attorney

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Funds Attorney based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to combine sophisticated investment funds expertise with the development of innovative AI-powered legal solutions.
You will apply your legal knowledge to evaluate AI-generated work, improve legal reasoning models, and enhance technology-driven contract analysis.
The position combines transactional legal expertise, document review, AI training, and legal innovation within a flexible remote environment.

Accountabilities:

The Funds Attorney will use deep investment funds expertise to assess AI-generated legal outputs, improve training data, and contribute to the development of advanced legal technology solutions.

  • Perform simulated negotiations, contract reviews, and redlining exercises involving investment fund documentation.
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to fund-related legal scenarios, providing detailed feedback to improve accuracy, legal reasoning, and quality.
  • Develop structured evaluation frameworks, scoring criteria, and quality standards for assessing AI performance on fund formation and transactional legal tasks.
  • Analyze complex fund documents to identify contractual risks, drafting issues, negotiation considerations, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to enhance AI systems designed for legal research, contract review, and transactional analysis.
  • Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to refine AI training datasets, legal guidelines, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Translate practical legal judgment and industry knowledge into structured feedback that improves AI model performance.
  • Contribute insights into investment fund workflows, legal processes, and opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in investment funds law, excellent legal analysis skills, and an interest in supporting the evolution of AI-enabled legal solutions.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within an Investment Funds practice group at a corporate law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of investment fund documentation, including Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), Subscription Agreements, and Side Letters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with the ability to transform legal expertise into clear and actionable feedback.
  • Demonstrated interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Experience with AI tools, legal technology platforms, AI training initiatives, or legal evaluation projects is preferred.
  • Experience advising private equity firms, venture capital firms, hedge funds, or other investment fund sponsors is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with legal operations, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, or enterprise legal technology solutions is a plus.
