Position Summary:
The Warehouse Technician will process orders, prepare items for shipment and receive incoming inventory. Also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting returned equipment, cleaning room maintenance, stocking and staging inventory, and inventory maintenance. The technician assists the supervisor or manager in pulling and loading equipment for delivery in addition to assembly of equipment when necessary. Maintaining confidentiality and all other aspects of HIPAA compliance are essential in this job.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and pallets; receive and open merchandise shipments, process packing slips or invoices, and verify quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring safe and organized storage; collect and deliver packages to the shipping area.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts, maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting discrepancies, stock shortages, or potential outages to the supervisor/warehouse manager in a timely manner.
- Monitor expiration dates to ensure supplies are returned or re-inventoried per company guidelines, and assist in stocking, tracking, and replenishing inventory.
- Prepare shipping containers and labels in advance; review itemized customer lists to locate and assemble outgoing merchandise, verifying contents against invoices or bills of lading.
- Pick, pack, and label orders accurately according to picking lists or order sheets, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, and conduct routine equipment inspections, reporting maintenance or repair needs.
- Retain knowledge of and adhere to procedures for PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
- Routinely clean the warehouse area per SOP, discard waste daily, and maintain a clean facility, including documenting returned items and cleaning equipment per Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines.
- Complete and maintain documentation for material handling and inventory control, including data entry, updating inventory management systems, and tracking shipping information.
- Complete clerical tasks including faxing, scanning, filing, and general phone calls.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and operate within HIPAA guidelines and AdaptHealth's Compliance Program, completing assigned compliance training and educational programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Equipment repair or maintenance skills

- Ability to clean, test and repair home medical equipment.
- Ability to identify safety hazards and take the necessary precautions.
- Accurately receive, stock, retrieve and load equipment and supplies.
- Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Construction, general manual labor, military and equipment repair, or maintenance skills would be considered related experience.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 85 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 pounds.
- Must be able to stretch, bend, stoop and crouch and perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment and supplies.
- Subject to long periods of walking or sitting.
- Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall work activities and work levels fluctuate.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
