Job Description
Work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team members, to maintain accountability for the implementation and supervision of the physical exercise component of the program, as well as, participating with other team members in the planning and delivery of portions of the cardiac risk factor reduction educational component. Participates in community outreach programs related to the promotion of wellness and disease risk reduction initiatives as supported by Cheshire Medical Center – DHK. Provides input in areas of expertise in activity-based wellness programs for community health enhancement. Assess participants to develop a plan of care, along with other team members, prior to a participant's entry into the program. Prepare and adjust exercises prescribed in accordance with an exercise stress test and physician recommendation. May perform exercises periodically with participants, demonstrating correct body position and proper use of equipment, in order to prevent injury and foster adherence to the exercise prescription. Educate other team members in correct exercise techniques and use of equipment to enable them to monitor participants' progress and adherence to the exercise prescription.
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required, Masters preferred. Minimum of 24 months of experience, which includes program responsibilities for Health/Fitness/Wellness promotion, in an adult population. ACSM Credential or eligibility obtained within 1 year. BLS – Within 3 months of hire and maintained on a biannual basis.
Compensation
Minimum Pay: $24.58
Maximum Pay: $38.10
