Medical Receptionist | Outpatient | Full-Time | 660 Merrimon Ave, Ste C, Asheville, NC 28804

Physio Physical Therapy, an H2 Health company, is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our outpatient team. As the first person patients see when they walk through our doors, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience while helping ensure our clinic operates efficiently. At Physio Physical Therapy, we know that great patient care starts with great people. As a Medical Receptionist, you'll be the welcoming face of our clinic while supporting patients, clinicians, and teammates throughout every step of the patient journey. This position is based at our Physio North clinic in Asheville and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an outpatient physical therapy setting.

Your Role

As a Medical Receptionist, you will provide exceptional customer service while supporting the daily administrative operations of our outpatient clinic.

  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized daily schedule.
  • Verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations, and assist with referrals.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Check patients in and out while collecting necessary documentation and payments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, clinicians, and administrative staff.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment.
  • Support the clinical team with administrative tasks that enhance the overall patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and referral processes preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information professionally.
