We are a dynamic engineering business working in the aerospace market specialising in maintenance tooling and ground support equipment. Our services include engineering, planned maintenance, repairs, upgrades, calibration, and testing. We operate workshop and field technicians supporting our customers at airlines, MROs, and engine/aircraft OEMs. Our global presence includes facilities across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and The Middle East.
About the role:
We are looking for a committed and experienced Site Manager to lead an engineering team. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations and management of the workshop and engineers, both field and workshop based, while delivering maintenance and repair to diverse range of aircraft ground support equipment and tooling. The role is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities at our Connecticut site.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. Day-to-day Management: Assume day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the workshop facility, including workforce training and mentoring; compliance; health and safety; equipment flow and maintenance; space requirements and workshop layout.
2. Quality Leadership: Forward thinking guidance in overseeing all aspects of quality within the team.
3. Allocation of Responsibility: Responsible for the process of assigning tasks, responsibilities and resources in the workshop including, scheduling to ensure turnaround times fall within contract SLA/KPI.
4. Time Management: Coordinate and prioritize jobs for workshop engineers, including monitoring progress of each individual repair job and manage any delays.
5. Cross-functional Management (CFM): Working as part of a wider engineering management team; supporting work activities/departments at various multi-site locations when needed; collaborating with the operations team to co-ordinate onsite visits and ensure engineers are prepared for the works needed for the team.
6. Continuous Improvement: Cross-functionally collaborate with internal departments to assess and implement systems and processes as part of ongoing improvement, including root-caused analysis and problem solving.
7. Stock Control: Assume responsibility inventory and forecasting levels, including ordering spare parts for unplanned work and general or spares for planned maintenance.
8. Mechanical Drawing Symbols: Ability in reading engineering drawings and manuals to support fault-finding and finding spare parts, including GD&T symbol charts.
9. Key Account Management: providing input and executing the business strategy and Key Account Plan for local customers, ensuring new business opportunities identified and customer satisfaction is high.
10. Facilities Management: act as the main point of contact on the site for all facility management activities, ensuring the estate remains in good order and legally compliant.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a related field, preferred in Business or Engineering.
2. Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience is a similar role and industry.
3. Demonstrable experience in ground support equipment and/or aircraft tooling maintenance is advantageous.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fluent in English (other languages are a plus). Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions in English. A clear understanding of math is essential.

- Clear technical competency and at least five years related experience.
6. Proven experience in an engineering management or a similar role.
7. Formal engineering or similar related qualification.
8. Knowledgeable of workshop equipment, tools, procedures, and safety standards
9. Skilled in planning, organizing, leading, and problem-solving.
10. Excellent customer service skills.
11. Excellent planning and organizational ability with an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to manage a team and accurately report to leadership team.

- Experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
15. Ability to travel to other sites as needed.
16. Full clean driving license.
17. Must have authorization to work in the United States.
18. Must be able to gain an airport pass if considered necessary by management, therefore no criminal record.
