Job Description
The EDT Program Director oversees the electric technical training programs for LSSC workforce students, ensuring they receive training that enables them to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. The Director will ensure that LSSC’s technical training programs are delivered with the highest level of safety and performance standards, training all students in compliance with required standards, procedures, and Instructor Excellence guidelines. Teaches wherever and whenever assigned as determined by instructional needs within the Lineman Program. The work location for this position will be the Sumter Center campus.
Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.

- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to reach team and individual goals and strengthen core competencies.
- Create and implement team strategies to ensure work is executed on time, on target, and on budget.
- Effectively find solutions to issues and risks presented by team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Provide technical leadership within the department.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with line of business (LOB)directors/managers, project managers, and team members, working collaboratively to identify training and performance requirements and advising on learning solutions aligned with those requirements.
- Collaborate with the client for course and training material feedback.
- Make suggestions for improvements and changes to the Director of Energy Programs and the Advisory Board.
- Work closely with client business leadership, project managers, information systems, and technology services.
- May lead the development of critical new tools, technology and techniques that requires cross functional coordination.
- Work with college partners, including Curriculum Development, Professional Development, Operations, and eLearning, to plan for assisting in projects and rollouts.
- Plan, establish, and maintain scheduling in conjunction with operations partners to maximize instructor booking efficiency and quality, adhere to budget, and achieve results-driven learning solution goals.
- Be able to create program curriculum as needed for current and future program offerings.
- Teach wherever and whenever assigned as determined by instructional needs within the Lineman Program.
- Manage the supply and tool inventory needed to teach the Line Worker Bootcamp classes and replace low stock when necessary.
- Manage the EDT vehicle fleet and keep up with necessary maintenance as required.
- Maintain certification(s), continuing professional development, and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of computers and software related to an instructional area, including MS Office/Google Suite, data systems, mobile technologies, web conference tools, and social networking; and knowledge of, or willingness to learn, a learning management system (LMS) preferred.
- Must be able to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social, and educational backgrounds.
- Must be able to cover call-outs as needed for the nighttime call-out exercises.
- Ability to maintain good working relations with all College personnel and members of the local community.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative decision-making environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to work various hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends
- Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, on or off campus, as required.
- Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of Four (4) years of related experience in the respective technical trade (Journeyman level - Lineman).
- Must have hands-on experience with the majority of skills necessary for the Line Worker Bootcamp.
- Preferred:
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
- Apprenticeship Completion in a technical discipline (Lineman) and 6 months of experience as a Technical Training Instructor.
