Shuttle Driver - Bus in Hillsdale, Michigan at Hillsdale College

1. Drives a College-assigned vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules.
2. Picks up and discharges passengers at designated stops.
3. Conduct safety and operational inspections of assigned vehicles daily.
4. Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
5. Performs periodic safety checks completing necessary reports upon request.
6. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
7. Completes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts.
8. Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and training updates as required.
9. Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of passengers.

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience or knowledge sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job successfully is also required.

4. Ability to maintain valid certification as a bus driver according to state regulations
5. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

1. Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
2. Repeat motions that may include wrists, hands, feet, and/or fingers.
3. Ability to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks
4. Ability to safely lift, push, and pull or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
5. Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, night/dusk vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
