The OpportunityWe’re looking for a Production Operations Supervisor to be a hands-on leader on our production floor, ensuring orders move efficiently through production and are delivered on time.
This role directly supervises approximately 2–4 production employees and coordinates workflow across screen printing, embroidery, heat press, finishing, and promotional product distribution.
You’ll serve as the critical link between production employees, management, customer service, order management, and senior leadership—identifying obstacles, solving problems, and keeping production priorities on track.
What You’ll DoAs the day-to-day leader on the production floor, you will:
- Manage production flow: Oversee daily schedules, priorities, work-in-process, and movement of orders between departments.
- Keep orders on track: Monitor production progress and identify scheduling conflicts, capacity issues, bottlenecks, and potential delivery delays.
- On-Time Delivery: Ensure orders are complete and shipped in time to meet our customers needs.
- Solve problems: Address routine production issues quickly and escalate larger issues when management involvement is needed.
- Coordinate resources: Recommend staffing, scheduling, workflow, or equipment adjustments when demand exceeds available capacity.
- Maintain visibility: Use the company ERP system to track and update order status, production progress, priorities, and workflow.
- Drive improvement: Partner with management to identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and create more efficient processes.
You’ll directly supervise a small production team and help create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include:
- Assigning employees to tasks based on workload, skills, equipment, and production priorities
- Conducting daily floor check-ins and communicating goals, priorities, and deadlines
- Training and coaching employees on production procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices
- Monitoring productivity, attendance, work quality, and adherence to company procedures
- Providing feedback and addressing performance concerns professionally
- Leading by example with a hands-on approach to production and problem-solving
You’ll be successful in this role if you are organized, dependable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable leading in a fast-paced production environment.
Required:
- Experience in production, manufacturing, fulfillment, apparel decoration, promotional products, or a similar operational environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing production requirements
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and sense of urgency
- Basic math skills and the ability to understand quantities and production counts
- Experience using an ERP or production management system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, organizing, and analyzing basic production information
- Ability to provide clear direction, hold employees accountable, and address problems professionally
Preferred:
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with screen printing, embroidery, heat press, garment decoration, or promotional product fulfillment
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and support production employees
- An understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
