Job Description
Location: Union, OH
Hours: 9 am-6 pm
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Distribution Center Manager in the planning, organizing, and controlling of the overall operations. The Distribution Center Supervisor helps to organize activities and assists and communicates the assignment of jobs accordingly to the staff. The Distribution Center Supervisor assists and communicates with the Distribution Center Manager in the management of stock control, receipt, storage, and retrieval of product, ensuring timely and accurate shipment to customers. In addition, this position helps to ensure that shipment loading, unloading, and transferring of product, to include documentation and record keeping, are being completed.
Responsibilities
- Organizing and training staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
- Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork, ensuring productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Ability to produce regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as requested
- Communicates daily to the staff as needed
- Plans out all distribution center resources and activities to keep alignment with the company's objectives and targets
- Ensures the health and safety requirements are met and followed by all warehouse associates
- Conducts daily audits of orders pulled and stock received
- Communicate with the IPS truck drivers and track company trucks to ensure efficiency of use and routing
- Coordinates and communicates between the distribution center and the sales office, including customer service, to ensure efficient and timely deliveries to IPS customers
- Responsible for conducting on-site 3PL inventories
- 5% domestic travel required
- Perform any additional duties assigned in keeping with IPS policies and procedures, helping to ensure customer satisfaction
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of distribution center or warehouse experience and at least 2 years being in a lead or supervisory role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
