Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Swim Instructor to provide high-quality swim instruction to swimmers of all ages and abilities. This position requires a minimum commitment of 28 hours in the water per week and will primarily focus on private swim lessons, with group lessons taught as needed.
One of the benefits of this position is a flexible schedule, allowing the instructor to have significant input in building their regular work schedule based on their availability and client demand.
The ideal candidate has at least six years of professional swim instruction experience and is comfortable teaching infants, children, teens, and adults. They should be confident assessing swimmers, adapting instruction to individual needs, and helping students build water safety skills, confidence, and strong swimming technique.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach primarily private swim lessons, with group lessons as needed.
- Maintain a consistent schedule of at least 28 in-water hours per week.
- Teach swimmers of all ages and skill levels, from infants and beginners to adults and more advanced swimmers.
- Assess swimmer abilities and create lessons tailored to individual goals and needs.
- Provide instruction in water safety, swimming fundamentals, stroke development, and advanced skills as appropriate.
- Communicate swimmer progress and recommendations with participants and families.
- Follow all facility safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
- Provide a professional, positive, and welcoming experience for swimmers and families.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 28 in-water hours per week. The schedule offers flexibility, with the instructor having significant input in establishing their regular work schedule. Once a schedule is established, the instructor is expected to maintain consistency for their clients.
Pay Range:
$32–$40 per hour

Requirements:Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of professional swim instruction experience.
- Clean background check
- Experience teaching infants, children, teens, and adults.
- Strong experience teaching one-on-one private swim lessons.
- Availability to work a minimum of 28 in-water hours per week.
- Strong knowledge of water safety, skill progression, and swim technique.
- Ability to adapt lessons to different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain required certifications. (We offer FREE ARC Lifeguard courses to active employees)
- Experience working with swimmers with diverse learning needs.
- Additional aquatic or swim instructor certifications.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other swim instructors.
