Positions Summary:
The CNC/Fab Machinery Technician supports the service, shipment, and installation readiness of CNC and fabrication equipment by performing machine setup, inspection, preparation, and basic repairs. This role is responsible for assisting with machine teardown, reassembly, and rigging preparation, while helping maintain safe and efficient workflow coordination with service technician and warehouse staff. The technician works across multiple machine brands (including Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Amada, Trumpf, Accurpress and others), completing mechanical and basic electrical tasks such as minor adjustments, component handling, and general equipment support. This position also supports accurate documentation through clear photos of inventory, equipment, and shipments, and safely operates forklifts as needed. A strong commitment to OSHA compliance, safety procedures, and company policies is essential in all equipment-handling and shop/warehouse activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic setup, inspection, and preparation of CNC/Fab machines for service, shipment, or installation
- Maintain, diagnose and repair all brands of CNC/Fab machines such as Hass, Mazak, Okuma, Amata, Trumpf Accurpress)
- Assist with basic mechanical and electrical tasks related to CNC/Fab equipment including powering up and minor adjustments
- Ability to safely operate forklifts
- Take photos of inventory, equipment, or shipments as required for documentation
- Responsible for machine teardown, reassembly, rigging preparation, and service tasks
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies when handling machinery and equipment
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate material handling and service work
Key Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of CNC/Fab machinery (to include brake press, shears, lasers and water jets etc.) setup, inspection, and preparation for shipment, service, and installation
- Ability to diagnose and repair CNC machines across multiple brands (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Okuma)
- Ability to diagnose and repair Fab machines across multiple bands (e.g., Amada, Trumpf lasers, Accurpress)
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (minor adjustments, component handling, and general equipment support)
- Experience assisting with machine teardown, reassembly, and rigging preparation
- Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and safe equipment-handling practices
- Ability to complete required documentation accurately, including taking clear photos of inventory, equipment, and shipments
- Familiarity with forklift pre-use inspections and the ability to identify and report safety or maintenance concerns
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with service technicians and warehouse staff
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow procedures while working in a fast-paced shop/warehouse environment
