Job Description

Financial Analyst (FP&A)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Analyst (FP&A) based in United States.

This is an opportunity to join a growing Financial Planning & Strategy team and take meaningful ownership of core FP&A activities.
You’ll drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting that directly support business decisions.
The role combines accounting knowledge, financial modeling, data analysis, and business partnership.
You’ll work closely with department leaders to translate financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
As the business scales, you’ll help develop new financial frameworks for an evolving AI and developer technology market.
You’ll also have the opportunity to automate recurring processes and introduce smarter, more efficient finance workflows.
With a lean team and high visibility, your work will have direct exposure to senior leadership and significant room for growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Own recurring FP&A deliverables end to end, including departmental budget-to-actual reporting, monthly close packages, and rolling forecast updates.
  • Build and maintain driver-based financial models covering areas such as revenue, headcount, infrastructure costs, and other key business drivers.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis, going beyond reporting changes to explain business implications, identify trends, and recommend next steps.
  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting by coordinating inputs from department leaders and consolidating company-wide financial views.
  • Prepare and contribute to board materials, investor deliverables, executive reporting, and other strategic finance analyses.
  • Partner with teams across the business to understand operational drivers, improve financial visibility, and support informed decision-making.
  • Improve and automate recurring finance processes using better tools, scripts, AI capabilities, and scalable workflows rather than relying solely on spreadsheets.
  • Help develop FP&A frameworks for emerging business models, including consumption-based pricing, infrastructure costs, and AI-related demand patterns.
  • Use data from ERP, BI, CRM, and other business systems to support analysis and create reliable, decision-ready financial information.
Requirements:
  • 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or another highly analytical finance role.
  • Strong accounting fluency, including an understanding of the general ledger, accruals, financial statements, and how actuals produced through the close process connect to financial planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to build clean, auditable, driver-based financial models from scratch using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong data fluency and the ability to pull, clean, reconcile, and analyze information from multiple business systems.
  • Ability to perform thoughtful variance analysis and communicate findings in terms of business impact, recommended actions, and audience needs.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, CAC, and payback period, or the ability and willingness to learn these concepts quickly.
  • Comfort working in a fast-growing environment where planning processes and complexity are evolving rapidly.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, developer tooling, and the technology shaping enterprise demand; a computer science background is not required.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition in a SaaS environment.
  • Preferred: SQL experience and the ability to independently retrieve data from business systems.
  • Preferred: Experience automating finance workflows through scripts, AI tools, or other technologies.
  • Preferred: Exposure to consumption-based pricing, infrastructure cost modeling, developer tooling, or environments where historical financial benchmarks are limited.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary depending on location and level:
    • US Tier 1: $85,000–$115,000
    • US Tier 2: $74,000–$100,000
    • US Tier 3: $70,000–$95,000
  • Equity participation.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Fully remote work environment within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work closely with the CFO, department leaders, and senior decision-makers.
  • Exposure to emerging AI, SaaS, developer infrastructure, and consumption-based business models.
  • Opportunities for expanded ownership and career progression toward Senior Financial Analyst as the organization grows.
  • An AI-native environment where modern AI tools can be used to automate reporting, accelerate modeling, and improve finance workflows.
  • A transparent, structured interview process designed to be completed within approximately two to four weeks, schedules permitting.
  • Equal employment opportunity and a commitment to a fair, inclusive hiring environment.
