Position Title: Dispatch Representative
DISPATCH REPRESENTATIVE
POSITION SUMMARY
The Dispatch Representative serves as the primary communication liaison between carriers and customers for assigned loads. This role is responsible for delivering a premier shipment experience by proactively managing carrier-customer communication from dispatch to delivery, ensuring parties receive timely updates, accurate ETAs, and notification of shipment changes. Dispatch Representatives enhance carrier-customer satisfaction, reduce communication gaps, and allow for streamlined operations within PTRs Logistics department.

- Fort Worth, TX Office
COMPENSATION
This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact between carriers and customers for assigned shipments.
- Monitor shipments throughout transit using telematics systems and transportation management tools.
- Provide proactive shipment updates, including estimated arrival times (ETAs), delivery confirmations, and shipment changes.
- Coordinate directly with carriers to obtain accurate shipment status, ETAs, and resolution for service issues.
- Maintain consistent, professional, and timely communication with customers throughout the shipment lifecycle.
- Document customer interactions and shipment updates within PTR systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve shipment visibility and the overall customer experience.
- Support company KPIs related to customer satisfaction, responsiveness, shipment visibility, and communication efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- 1+ years of strong customer service or account experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with logistics software and tools.
- College Degree or Certificates.
