POSITION SUMMARY
The Academic Administration team is seeking a Weekend Event Assistant to provide onsite support for campus intensives, cohort weekends, and other Academic Administration events during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
The Weekend Event Assistant will support approximately 2 to 3 onsite shifts per month and assist with event setup, instructor and guest support, maintaining event spaces, and other general event needs. This position requires reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and respond to needs as they arise during events.
Specific workdays and a regular schedule are expected based on scheduled events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support approximately 2 to 3 onsite event shifts per month.
- Check in with course instructors at the beginning of class to ensure their needs are met.
- Contact the front desk when technical support is needed.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving and arranging furniture as needed.
- Maintain and restock designated snack areas during events.
- Greet students, faculty, staff, and guests and provide general onsite assistance.
- Assist event leads with event-related needs and other tasks as assigned.
- Help maintain organized, welcoming, and functional event spaces.
- Communicate questions, issues, or event needs to the appropriate staff member.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet Federal Work-Study eligibility requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and use good judgment when responding to event needs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and guests.
- Ability to work effectively with and assist members of a diverse campus community.
- Must live within the Bay Area and be able to reliably work onsite.
- Ability to work approximately 2 to 3 onsite shifts per month based on scheduled events.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This onsite position requires the ability to move throughout campus, stand or walk for extended periods, move furniture and supplies, and assist with event setup and breakdown. Weekend availability is required based on scheduled campus intensives, cohort weekends, and other events.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
This position requires attention to detail, good memory, ability to work under deadline pressure, sitting and standing for long periods of time, oral and written communication, keyboarding for significant portions of the workday, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, patience, and tact to perform the essential functions.

Onsite at the CIIS campus, 1453 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.
Additional Information:
WAGES AND BENEFITS
Wage: $19.61 per hour
Hours: Up to 20 hours per month
This is a Federal Work-Study student position available during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Hours will vary depending on scheduled events and departmental needs.
Specific workdays and a regular schedule are expected. This position requires onsite work approximately 2 to 3 times per month.
Federal Work-Study positions are subject to the student's continued eligibility and available Federal Work-Study award.
NOTES TO CANDIDATE
- Working Conditions Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically Monday through Friday.
- Background Check Due to the sensitivity and requirements of this position, you should expect to undergo and be cleared of an employment background/criminal check, if extended an offer for employment. You may also be asked to provide proof of educational degree(s), licenses, or credentials pertinent to the position. If your job requires driving on behalf of CIIS you will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
