About the Role:

The Product Test Engineer Support Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of manufactured products through rigorous testing and validation processes. This position involves supporting the engineering team by preparing test setups, executing test procedures, and documenting results to verify product performance against specifications. The technician will collaborate closely with design and production teams to identify issues early and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. By maintaining test equipment and troubleshooting technical problems, the role helps minimize downtime and supports efficient product development cycles. Ultimately, this position ensures that products meet stringent quality standards before reaching customers, thereby safeguarding the company’s reputation and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation according to engineering specifications and internal test procedures.
  • Execute detailed test plans and procedures to evaluate product functionality, durability, and compliance.
  • Record, analyze, and report test data accurately to support engineering assessments and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on test systems and tools to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of test protocols and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on test processes and product performance.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, etc.
  • Execute daily process improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Maintain work area by the use of 6S principles
  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor or manager immediately
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Proficiency in data analysis software and test management tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards relevant to product testing and certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in using test instruments, multimeters, measuring equipment, and data collection tools.
  • Experience with electronic or mechanical product testing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in CAD environments (i.e. SolidWorks).
  • Basic understanding of machining principles.
  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex technical procedures accurately.

Education

  • Associate’s Degree in S.T.E.M.-related field of study and/or up to 2 years relevant work experience preferred.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to perform calculations utilizing algebra and fractions.
  • Ability to utilize geometry to solve mechanical (i.e. engineering) problems.
  • Ability to utilize database programs such as Excel to perform mathematical calculation.

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency in using and setting up hardware and software for USB, RS-232, and GPIB controlled test and measurement instrumentation preferred.
  • Knowledge of drafting programs is a plus.

Pay Range

The hiring range for this role is $24.00 to $30.80 hourly. The hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
