Job Description
CDTs serve guests and support their BOH teammates to facilitate 100% guest satisfaction and staff success. CDTs also provide general assistance to the management and operations team, and owners in areas of daily restaurant operations.
In year 1 earn between $25–$29* per hour on average ( with tips included). Wages go higher from there based on tenure and proficiency.
*Base wage of $16.27/hour plus tips through a tip pool system. Tips are shared across the team and added to your hourly pay

Qualifications/Skills:
- Displays a professional demeanor at all times especially under pressure and adversity.
- Willing to step in and help outside of day-to-day responsibilities.

- Goes above and beyond to accommodate guest needs and dietary restrictions.
- Able to complete all aspects of the pastry program, including opening the kitchen, prepping and plating all desserts, setting up the station for success, managing and rotating all products and ingredients.
- Performs tasks at the highest level and integrity and displays a consistent level of excellence.
- Upkeeps the cleanliness and organization of the station and kitchen equipment.
- Utilizes technology (phone, computer, tablets, etc) while on the clock exclusively for work purposes.
- Trained in all aspects of pastry prep, has fluid knowledge of all the recipes and understands and excels at the basic workings of the restaurant.
- Is able to train and support new and current staff members, can act as a resource for all new employees in regards to product and equipment knowledge.
- Willing and actively expanding their knowledge and education to keep up on trends by reading cook books and researching food trends and techniques.
- The most experienced level cook who displays expertise and mastery of pastry prep, plating, stations and recipes.
- Can work with minimal supervision and upholds excellence in the work environment.
- Able to self audit product issues, receive feedback from the chef team, and clearly communicate all feedback or adjustments to the pastry team (where applicable).
- Cross trained at 2-3 locations and able to fill in if or when needed and schedule allows.
- Ability to enter and edit recipes in both Restaurant 365 and MEEZ, will be responsible for communication and executing of all pastry edits.
- Working knowledge of all products needed for pastry prep including sources, ordering schedules and pars. Able to clearly communicate all product needs in a timely manner to the chef team to ensure production schedule is met.
- Is a team player and displays a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Communicates professionally and respectfully with all of their team members and supervisors.
- Helps make those around them better by encouraging accurate execution and correcting or holding accountable as needed.

- Helps to coordinate and support team members before and during service to ensure smooth and successful execution.
- Is a role model for Edible Beat’s standards and policies. Specifically health code, uniform and personal hygiene.
- Trains staff members on safety policies and procedures.
- Takes on a heightened responsibility to ensure guest safety related to dietary restrictions and food allergies.

Requirements:
- Accepts heightened responsibilities and takes on a leadership role in the restaurant, including:
- Trains employees on all aspects of pastry production and execution to perform to Edible Beats standards.
- Supports chefs, management, and the line to ensure quality & adherence to internal standards throughout prep and service
- Sets an example and tone for other kitchen staff members
- Contributes to menu development and specials
- Coordinates kitchen opening and closing procedures when needed
- Expos and coordinates service with the kitchen and front of house when needed
- Places orders, receives orders and does inventory when needed
- Proactively communicates relevant details to the management team after each shift, including concerns & commendations related to employee wellness and performance, the guest experience, inventory/prep needs, and scheduling changes.
- Provides input and support to managers regarding issues warranting escalation, such as employee performance that is inconsistent with or exceeds Edible Beats’ expectations.
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at pastry stations to assure a smooth service.
- Portions food prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, C-vaps, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
