Job Description
Have you always wanted a fun and rewarding job? Do you have a passion for working with seniors? Look no further as we currently have openings for Lead Dining Room Server on our Signature Dining Team. Our team manages the entire dining experience of our seniors ensuring that meals are presented in a clean and attractive manner and that residents, both new and old, feel welcome.
What You'll Do:
Meal Service
• Attends pre-meal meetings to become familiar with menu items being served.
• Is an active participant and serves a section in the Dining Room
• Assists in seating of residents in assigned section of dining room.
• Greets all residents immediately upon being seated and makes an effort to integrate new residents into dining room experience.
• Notes and reports to Supervisor all residents from assigned section that missed the meal, if POS system is not utilized.
• Maintains accurate records of meals served to residents and guests in assigned section and submits to Supervisor, or accurately enters information into POS system, if applicable
• Reports immediately to Supervisor any unusual occurrences or changes in resident behavior or eating habits occurring in assigned section.
• Serves meals in accordance with proper serving techniques and ensures that food is presented in an attractive manner.
• Assists with other dining room duties such as restocking condiments, filling salt and pepper shakers, folding napkins, etc., as assigned by Supervisor.
Dining Room Cleaning
• Assists with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining all service areas in assigned section.
• Ensures that tables, chairs, and carpet in assigned section are cleaned after each meal and prepared for the next meal in a timely manner.
• Assists with other cleaning duties as assigned.
Lead Shift
• Assists in training all dining room personnel; in absence of Dining Room Supervisor assists in directing dining room personnel.
• Monitor’s dining room team member schedules and makes daily task assignments to ensure efficient and effective meal service.
• Ensures that all dining room personnel maintain a strong customer service focus and are consistently professional in conduct and appearance.
• Supports operating dining room within budgetary guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge base of current OSHA, and local and state regulatory agency guidelines and ensures that the dining room service maintains regulatory compliance.
• Serves as a member of the department’s leadership team to provide feedback of daily operations and team performance.
What We Are Looking For:
• Minimum of 3 years food service experience, including 1 years of previous dining room management.
• Previous experience in both restaurant and senior living settings preferred.
• Must have a strong commitment to customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, team members and vendors.
• Must have basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
• Must meet all health-related and/or food handling requirements pertaining to local or state regulatory agencies.
• Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials
• Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials
• Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits
• Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal background check.
