Port Royal Club, located in the heart of the prestigious Port Royal neighborhood in south Naples, Florida, is a private beach club dedicated to luxury, leisure, and exceptional service. Membership is exclusively tied to property ownership within the Port Royal community, making the Club a cornerstone of one of the most distinguished addresses in the country.
Our Club offers an array of world-class amenities, including a 10,000-square-foot fitness center featuring yoga, Pilates, and spin classes, as well as a serene spa for wellness and rejuvenation. The tennis center boasts nine Har-Tru clay courts and a 1,300-square-foot pro shop, catering to both recreational and competitive players.
Following the impact of Hurricane Ian in 2022, the Club has embarked on a $100 million rebuilding to reimagine our facilities. The new 62,000 sq ft clubhouse—set to open in fall 2026—will embrace timeless West Indies architecture and offer an elevated member experience, featuring a coffee shop, three signature restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, four bars, a banquet venue, a lap pool, and access to our pristine private beach.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities for Port Royal Club, ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and services at competitive prices. This position manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, maintains inventory controls, and supports all club departments—including Food & Beverage, Culinary, Facilities, Housekeeping, Golf, Tennis, and Administration—to ensure operational excellence and exceptional member experiences.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Purchasing Manager will uphold the Club’s standards of quality, service, and fiscal responsibility while ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and budget objectives.
- Manage the purchasing process for all club departments.
- Source and procure food, beverage, operating supplies, equipment, furniture, and other materials required for club operations.
- Obtain competitive bids and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Ensure products and services meet quality standards and operational requirements.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and product improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance regarding pricing, quality, delivery, and service levels.
- Resolve vendor issues, discrepancies, and delivery challenges promptly.
- Research and onboard new suppliers as needed.
- Oversee inventory management programs and establish appropriate stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Monitor inventory turnover and reduce waste, spoilage, and excess inventory.
- Work closely with department managers to forecast purchasing needs and seasonal demand.
- Assist in the preparation and management of departmental purchasing budgets.
- Review purchase orders, invoices, and receiving records for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and reporting systems.
- Analyze purchasing trends and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure purchasing activities align with club budget objectives.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify operational needs and purchasing priorities.
- Coordinate deliveries and receiving schedules with club operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support special events, capital projects, and seasonal initiatives through effective procurement planning.
- Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
- Train staff on purchasing, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
- Promote ethical procurement practices and maintain confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with all Club policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain management experience.
- Private club, hospitality, resort, country club, or luxury service industry experience preferred.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and financial management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Experience with purchasing and inventory management software preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 25lbs.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Will work indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to wet and/or hot conditions.
