Shipping Supervisor
Location: Farmingdale, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Mon-Thurs 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM & Friday 8:00am-2:00pm
Pay Rate: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00

Position Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations within a Pick/Pack order fulfillment environment to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant shipment of finished goods and materials. This role supervises shipping personnel, coordinates logistics activities, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures all shipments meet customer requirements, company standards, and safety regulations. The Shipping Supervisor works closely with production, warehouse, customer service, and transportation providers to support efficient operations and on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for Finish Good warehouse operations and supervising warehouse personnel. Warehouse activities include, but not limited to, loading/unloading, receiving, sorting, put-away, pick/pack, shipping, and inventory control.
• Manage and assign daily shipment preparation, shipping, and inventory control activities to staff.
• Work with Shipping Office to monitor shipping schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Ensure all prepared orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
• Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged goods, and customer complaints in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory by leading regular physical counts with warehouse teams and reconciling discrepancies with the warehouse inventory system.
• Maintain accurate inventory and reporting in DEACOM.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, GMP standards (if applicable), and transportation requirements
• Train, coach, and evaluate shipping personnel to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to procedures
• Monitor staffing needs, employee attendance, and workflow distribution
• Keep up to date with all federal and state safety regulations.
• Prepare reports related to shipping performance, KPIs, productivity, and carrier performance
• Complete all required training activities.
• Demonstrate commitment to the organization by maintaining regular, on-site attendance, acting in a reliable manner and following through on responsibilities.
• On-time delivery: Ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.
• Shipping Accuracy: Accurate shipping contents and pack outs of outbound shipments.
• Cost management: Reducing operational costs through effective scheduling and resource planning.
• Data Accuracy: Accurate Inventory data and inventory movements in ERP system.
Education
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of five (3) years supervision / management experience of a team of 5+ employees.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively interface with all levels of personnel.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Experience
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations
• Ability to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of industry cGMPs and lean manufacturing principles
• Familiarity with domestic and international shipping documentation is a plus
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of an ERP system.
Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred
