Position Summary:

The School Pantry Coordinator will assist schools with setting up, running, and troubleshooting on-site pantries for students in our 12-county service area. They will recruit new schools to join the program, provide guidance on policies and procedures, deliver products monthly to each school, and ensure accurate records are maintained. The successful candidate will work directly with schools, clients, and volunteers and will represent FNEFL within the community. The School Pantry Coordinator will be required to maintain accurate daily operational records, assess needs based on product demand and availability, understand consumers’ and internal stakeholders' needs, and, under the direct supervision of the Partnership and Programs Director, work to ensure those needs are addressed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Operation- Inventory control for school products, monthly deliveries, and oversight of each location
  • Data Collection – Incoming and outgoing food and supplies, client data collection, activity reporting
  • Asset Management- Safety and care of personnel, food, and equipment
  • Customer Service – external and internal, positive in all circumstances
  • SOP’s Followed – food and client safety, client privacy, cleanliness of work area, etc.
  • Data collection on site and computer entry of data
  • Working with school staff, students, and volunteers
  • Responsible for monitoring school pantry inventory levels and stocking monthly
  • Assisting management with the implementation of strategic program activities, including feedback on client preferences and special programs
  • Connecting with and referring to other departments to aid in workflow, communication, and efficiency as directed by the manager
  • All other duties as requested or required

Job Qualifications:

  • Good driving record
  • At least three years of experience involving customer contact, preferably in the food industry
  • Ability to read and write in English and at a level that is generally accepted as literate
  • Possess basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • High level of personal integrity and honesty
  • Timeliness and professionalism
  • Ability to treat clients with compassion and respect
  • Knowledge of food safety a plus

Work Environment:

This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions. In instances of a federal, state, or local declared emergency, FNEFL is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
