Job Description
Tec Centro Capital Region is seeking an experienced Fiscal Officer to oversee the financial operations of our growing nonprofit organization.
This is a hands-on role combining accounting, nonprofit financial management, grant oversight, compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting. The Fiscal Officer will work closely with organizational leadership to ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, grant compliance, and sound financial decision-making.
The ideal candidate has direct nonprofit accounting experience, understands fund and grant accounting, and is comfortable managing both day-to-day accounting responsibilities and higher-level financial reporting.
Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, budgets, and forecasts
Develop and monitor budgets and financial allocations for programs, grants, and organizational initiatives
Track grant and restricted funding and ensure compliance with donor, state, and federal requirements
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash-flow activities
Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard organizational assets
Coordinate financial documentation and serve as a key contact during external audits
Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Analyze financial performance and provide leadership with actionable financial insights
Translate financial information into clear reports for leadership, staff, board members, and other stakeholders
2+ years of accounting experience within a nonprofit organization
Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grants, and financial compliance
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience managing multiple grants or restricted funding sources
Experience supporting nonprofit audits and regulatory reporting

$55,000 - $70,000 a year
