Job Description
Van Drivers are responsible for safely and reliably transporting seniors to medical appointments, recreational sites, and other approved destinations. The Van Driver will also deliver meals to homebound seniors while providing friendly, courteous, and exceptional customer service.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly vehicle.
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and transportation procedures.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with passengers, families, staff, and the public.
- Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain required transportation and driver records.
- Follow all applicable safety regulations, CDAAA policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- A good driving record is required.
- Minimum of two years of driving experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a 13-passenger van is required.
- Must be friendly, courteous, patient, dependable, and professional.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with seniors and individuals with varying needs.
- Must successfully pass all required background checks and employment drug screening.
- Must meet all applicable requirements for operating a CDAAA transportation vehicle.
A valid driver’s license and current driving record must be provided and approved prior to employment being considered. A satisfactory driving record is required.
Service Areas
Routes may include Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Emporia, Prince George, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Surry, and Greensville County.
