Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
As a valued interdisciplinary team member, the Food Service Attendant (FSA), under the direction of the Food Services Manager/Executive Chef / Cook Team Lead or designate, assists with food preparation including washing, preparation and delivery of food and ware supplies. Assists in the receiving, distribution, storage and maintaining of stock and supplies. Follows all relevant Park Place policies including infection prevention and control and WHMIS. Treats Residents with dignity and demonstrates an attitude of caring.

SALARY
$15.60-18.47

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs the day-to-day food services activities related to the preparation and provision of meals to Residents. This includes less complex food preparation as requested and meal/nourishment service set-up and delivery and tear down / clean
  • Assists Residents and Co-workers as required or directed
  • Performs the day-to-day food services activities related to the ware-washing of supplies, and cleaning of the kitchen and all other dining areas in the Home
  • Keeps work areas clean, neat and tidy
  • Assists in receiving, distribution and storage of supply deliveries
  • Supports the equipment control system reporting all maintenance issues of food preparation and distribution equipment to the Cook
  • Makes recommendations to improve efficiency and workflow in meal preparation and provision of meals to Residents
  • Participates in education sessions and Staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clear criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
  • Must be physically fit to perform lifting and transferring and able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Appropriately dressed for work
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
  • Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires a significant amount of lifting, bending, walking, sitting and standing. Lifting 50-lbs. maximum. More frequent lifting of 20 lbs. or less. A regular day may involve four (4) hours of walking and frequent bending or crouching.
