This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a System Operations Engineer in the United States.
This role sits at the center of mission-critical cloud operations supporting highly sensitive public safety technology environments. You will help evolve and strengthen DevOps and production operations practices to meet and exceed modern SaaS reliability and security standards. The position focuses on building scalable infrastructure, improving system observability, and ensuring rapid incident response in high-availability systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, deployment pipelines, and monitoring capabilities. The environment is fast-paced, remote-first, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on reliability, compliance, and operational excellence. Your work will directly contribute to the stability and performance of systems used in critical emergency response contexts.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining robust cloud operations systems that ensure high availability and reliability across production environments. You will develop and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions and enhance automation across deployment and delivery pipelines.
- Create operational documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans for systems and processes
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
- Develop and optimize monitoring, alerting, and on-call systems to ensure rapid incident response
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and automate software build and deployment processes
- Collaborate closely with support, engineering, and customer success teams to resolve production issues
- Provide operational updates and performance insights to senior leadership
You bring strong experience in DevOps, cloud operations, and production-grade system reliability within SaaS or technology-driven environments. You are comfortable working independently in remote settings and have a strong grasp of cloud architecture, automation, and distributed systems.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Operations roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and similar frameworks
- Solid experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with alternative data stores such as OpenSearch and Amazon Redshift
- Strong understanding of web application architectures and containerization technologies (Kubernetes is a plus)
- Deep experience working within Amazon Web Services environments, including highly secure or regulated configurations such as GovCloud
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously in a remote-first setup
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- U.S. citizenship required with ability to pass FBI fingerprint and multi-state background checks
- Experience with CJIS-compliant environments and public safety systems is highly desirable
- Fully remote position within the United States
