What You Will Do

  • Develop and deliver programming, communications, and initiatives that promote academic and personal success for online student populations.

  • Design and implement outreach and communication strategies to reengage out-of-touch or at-risk online students.

  • Monitor online student progress and engagement through systems like Blackboard and Starfish, creating reports and identifying trends.

  • Provide individualized support and mentoring to help students define and achieve educational and career goals.

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to advocate for and enhance student success and well-being.

  • Maintain accurate student records, confidentiality, and current knowledge of campus services to provide one-stop student support.

  • Participate in professional development and contribute data, reports, and recommendations to improve student success initiatives.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management and follow up skills
  • Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities
  • Ability to build relationships, work independently and provide good judgment
  • Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Skills/Qualifications


  • Master's Degree
  • 2 years or more of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement, retention, and persistence
  • 2 or more years of experience providing support in a virtual capacity
  • 2 or more years of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment
  • 2 or more years of experience using various contact methods including chat or text
  • Experience serving online and adult student populations
