This role is a senior leadership position focused on driving the successful execution of large-scale federal healthcare engineering and facilities programs supporting veterans’ services. You will oversee complex, multi-workstream portfolios that span healthcare infrastructure, capital projects, and facilities modernization initiatives. Acting as the primary program lead, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage contractor performance, and ensure alignment with federal requirements and mission objectives. The position requires close collaboration with government stakeholders, including contracting officers and senior VA leadership, to ensure delivery excellence. You will also translate technical and operational program data into clear executive-level insights that guide decision-making. This is a high-impact role in a regulated, mission-driven environment where precision, accountability, and leadership are essential.
Lead and oversee the full lifecycle execution of assigned healthcare engineering and facilities program portfolios, ensuring performance, compliance, and delivery excellence across multiple workstreams within a complex federal environment.
- Serve as the primary contractor lead for assigned program areas, managing schedules, deliverables, and work standards across teams
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate contractor personnel, ensuring alignment with federal requirements and performance expectations
- Lead executive-level briefings and reporting for senior government stakeholders, including risk, status, and performance updates
- Partner with contracting officers and technical representatives to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and maintain contract compliance
- Monitor and manage program execution using analytical tools, dashboards, and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and tracking
- Oversee large-scale capital project portfolios in healthcare facilities, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and VA standards
15+ years of progressive program management experience in federal, healthcare, engineering, or infrastructure environments, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience accepted). Strong background in managing complex, regulated, multi-stakeholder programs.
- Proven experience in VA, VHA, or comparable federal healthcare or infrastructure program environments
- Strong knowledge of federal contracting frameworks, capital planning, and facilities engineering or construction management
- Ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage multi-workstream portfolios effectively
- Strong executive communication skills with experience delivering high-level briefings to senior leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with reporting, analytics, or portfolio management tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal clearance and meet suitability requirements for VA environments
- Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills in complex environments
