Process Heap Leach in Eureka, Nevada at McEwen Mining Inc

Position Overview:

The Process Operator Heap Leach is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of heap leach processing activities. This role performs routine operational tasks including pad maintenance, solution management, equipment operation, and general housekeeping to ensure optimal gold recovery and compliance with operational and environmental standards.

Working closely with the Process Operations team, the Process Operator monitors heap leach infrastructure, maintains solution ponds and pipelines, and assists with operational activities to ensure production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain heap leach pad, including cleaning material from pad and solution ponds.
- Assist with solution management and monitoring of leach pad infrastructure.
- Support operational activities to maintain proper flow and distribution of process solutions.
- Perform all required tasks to install, construct and deploy necessary infrastructure to leach ore on heap leach pad.
- Perform routine inspections of pipelines, valves, pumps, and leach pad equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting operational issues related to leach pad systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safe operations.
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor.

● Equipment Operation ●
- Operate telehandler, dozers, and other light mobile equipment as required.
- Fusing H.D.P.E pipe with the 412-track star.
- Assist with material movement and maintenance activities across the leach pad and processing areas.
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Support lifting and moving equipment and materials up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.

● Safety & Environmental Compliance ●
- Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Work safely to prevent harm to self, coworkers, and the environment.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and workplace inspections.
- Ensure environmental compliance related to heap leach operations and solution management.

● Team Support ●
- Work collaboratively with the Process Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams.
- Support training and development of other team members as required.
- Demonstrate reliability, strong communication, and teamwork in daily operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in heap leach operations or mining environments preferred.
- Experience operating telehandlers, dozers, pipe fusers or similar equipment preferred.
- General understanding of mining operations and processing activities.
- Ability to work safely in a mining and processing environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently when required.
- Willingness to train on additional equipment and operational tasks.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

- Ability to walk up, down, and across rough terrain including leach pads and process areas.
- Ability to climb stairs, catwalks, liners, and pad infrastructure.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform manual labor including shoveling material on leach pads.
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
