Job Opportunity: Private Process Server (1099 Independent Contractor)

ProVest, one of the nation’s largest legal support services firms, is seeking independent contractors to serve legal documents in Franklin County, OH.

Applicants must reside in Ohio, preferably near Franklin county.

About the Role
As a Private Process Server with ProVest, you will work independently to deliver legal documents on behalf of leading law firms and financial institutions. Documents may include foreclosure, collection, civil, and litigation notices. This is a 1099 contract position with weekly pay per completed job.

Responsibilities

• Serve legal documents within assigned areas
• Manage assignments using ProVest’s mobile apps (PVLS & PSO Mobile)
• Document all service attempts using the mobile app, including GPS-stamped photographs
• Complete required service attempts in accordance with client guidelines
• Return completed documents and reports accurately and on time
• Plan routes and manage your own schedule
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach at all times

Qualifications

• Have strong time management and organizational skills
• Are comfortable working independently
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Are comfortable using mobile technology
• Value accuracy, honesty, and professionalism

Requirements

• Ohio residency (near listed county preferred)
• Availability 3–5 days per week, including weekends as needed
• Ability to complete required service attempts on different days and at varying times
• Must complete a minimum of five service attempts per assignment, including:
  • One attempt before 8:00 AM
  • One attempt after 8:00 PM
  • One afternoon attempt
  • One weekend attempt
  • One additional attempt at a different day and time
• All attempts must be completed on different days and properly documented through the ProVest mobile app with GPS-enabled photographs
• Willingness and ability to visit local courthouses to pick up filed documents and email them back to ProVest when requested
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• Access to a computer, printer, scanner, and email
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Comfortable using mobile apps for documentation and reporting

• Private Investigators
• Experienced Process Servers
• Law Enforcement or Security background

Support Provided
You will have a dedicated ProVest liaison for support. Original case files will be mailed to you, and as a non-local server, you will not be required to report to a ProVest office in person. Training and support on ProVest’s mobile applications and reporting requirements will be provided.
