Job Title: Thrift Store Supervisor

Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time or Part-Time

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Assistant Store Manager / Store Manager

Work Schedule: Morning, evening, weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and holiday availability required. Scheduled shifts will include: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM, and 10:45 AM to 7:15 PM

Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour (DOE)

Location: Shoreline, WA and Lynnwood, WA as needed

Position Overview

This role is designed to provide supervisory support where it is needed across both of our stores. The Flex Supervisor will work at each of our stores in Lynnwood and Shoreline, supporting operations on the sales floor and in production. Because this is a flexible position, the supervisor may initially be scheduled for a shift and then be asked to work a different time, location, or department based on staffing needs. Flexibility in location, department, and schedule is essential to this role.

This scope of this role encompasses working as both a Front-End Supervisor and Production Supervisors depending on schedule needs.

The Production Supervisor leads the daily retail operations by supervising Production Associates and volunteers while ensuring donated merchandise is sorted, priced, processed, and moved efficiently to the sales floor. This working supervisor promotes productivity, quality, safety, and teamwork while supporting Bella's Voice's mission.

The Front-End Supervisor serves as a working leader responsible for ensuring an exceptional customer experience while supporting the daily operations of Bella's Voice thrift stores. This position provides leadership to cashiers, sales floor associates, and volunteers while creating a positive, organized, and mission-driven shopping environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Flexibility in location, department, and schedule.
  • Ability to adapt to different teams and departments.
  • Supervise, coach, and support Production Associates and volunteers.
  • Train employees in production standards, pricing guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Assign daily work priorities and monitor productivity.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition.
  • Oversee sorting, pricing, tagging, and preparation of donated merchandise.
  • Ensure merchandise quality and pricing consistency.
  • Coordinate the flow of merchandise from production to the sales floor.
  • Monitor production goals and recommend process improvements.
  • Inspect merchandise for quality and resale standards.
  • Maximize resale opportunities while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure accurate pricing and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area.
  • Ensure proper lifting techniques and OSHA-compliant practices.
  • Support donation intake and collaborate with front-end leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and support front-end team members, cashiers, volunteers, and sales floor associates.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Provide coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and policy compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns.
  • Promote Bella's Voice's mission through every customer interaction.
  • Supervise cashier operations and cash handling.
  • Balance cash drawers and assist with deposits.
  • Maintain organized checkout areas.
  • Ensure merchandise is organized, stocked, and visually appealing.
  • Support merchandising, pricing, signage, and recovery efforts.
  • Open and close the store following procedures.
  • Coordinate breaks and daily assignments.
  • Promote workplace safety and loss prevention.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of retail, warehouse, production, or thrift experience.
  • Two years of retail or customer service experience.
  • Thrift store or resale retail experience.
  • Knowledge of clothing brands, housewares, antiques, or collectibles.
  • Experience supervising volunteers.
  • Passion for animal welfare and community service.
