Short-Term Position | Potential Long-Term Opportunity | Travel Required
Anchor Innovation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Boat Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and repair of small boats and outboard engines. This is a short-term position with the potential to transition into a long-term follow-on opportunity based on performance, contract requirements, and continued workload.
Candidates must have an active Secret security clearance, current U.S. passport, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally with limited notice.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on small boats and outboard engines.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, starting, charging, steering, and control systems.
- Diagnose engine performance issues and return vessels to operational status.
- Perform routine engine services and inspections.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and parts-usage records.
- Support vessel launch, recovery, movement, and operational preparation as required.
- Provide maintenance support in shop, waterfront, field, and deployed environments.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing outboard-powered boats and engines.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Ability to travel on short notice, including domestic and international assignments.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently in field and waterfront environments.
Highly Preferred
- Mercury outboard engine maintenance and repair experience.
- Mercury Marine training, certifications, or diagnostic experience.
- Experience with RHIBs/RIBs, military, government, law-enforcement, or commercial small craft.
- Experience with marine 12V/24V electrical systems and vessel electronics.
- Previous deployed or remote maintenance experience.
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish skills — preferred, but not required.

We're looking for a hands-on technician and problem solver who can assess a boat or engine issue, determine the appropriate repair, and get the vessel back into operation with minimal supervision.
This position is ideal for an experienced marine technician who enjoys travel, field work, troubleshooting, and supporting operational missions.
