CTG is seeking an Engineering Multi-Discipline Technician III for our client in Austin, TX.

Type: Contract
Job Title: Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician III
Location: Austin, TX
Pay Rate: $26.75 hourly
Work Hours: M-F 8am-4pm
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Description

CTG is seeking an Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician III to support laboratory testing and engineering activities involving fiber optic components and related test systems. This position will assist with test setup, optical measurements, environmental and mechanical testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with delicate components and laboratory test equipment.

Requirements:

  • Assist with setup and performance verification of fiber optic testing systems.
  • Configure product samples for environmental and mechanical testing.
  • Perform optical measurements using manual and automated test systems.
  • Program and operate environmental chambers and test equipment.
  • Set up, perform, track, and report testing progress as directed.
  • Document test results from optical fiber component testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct basic data analysis and interpretation.
  • Draft test reports using the required format and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with failure mode analysis.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory work area.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete assignments accurately and according to predefined schedules.
  • Handle very small and delicate components with care and precision.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on technical experience using test and measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Good eyesight and the ability to work with very small, delicate parts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new processes and equipment quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues and apply problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments on schedule.
  • Motivated, dependable, and willing to learn.
  • Confidence working in a hands-on technical environment.
