Staff Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit:
The Registered Nurse shows dedication to enriching the lives of our patients through empathy and compassion
- Demonstrates commitment to interpersonal excellence through professional greetings and common courtesy
- Develop and implement a plan of care through delivery and delegation of care
- Participates in patient / family education
- Participates in communication and collaboration with patients, families, Physicians and other health care professionals involving patient care

- Respond accordingly in emergency situations for Codes
- Adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures
- Interprets patient data accurately, utilize data independently or in consultation with other healthcare professionals to plan and revise care
- Document accurately and appropriately
- Safely secure, administer and control medication pass throughout entire shift
- Evaluate patients response to medication and provide necessary intervention
Essential Functions- Responds appropriately in emergency situations for Code Blue, Code Pink, Code Triage, Code Orange, and Rapid Response Team calls.

- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures as well as department specific policies and procedures: examples of hospital wide policies include infection control, restraints, and safety policies and procedures. Hourly rounds

- Collaborates with coworkers, patient, families, physicians, spiritual care and (when needed) the ethics committee when issues arise regarding patients' rights, end of life issues, and advanced directives.

- Adapts to floating to similar units when required and adapts to changing patient assignments as volume and acuity fluctuate.

- Utilizes computer skills to access information for patient related data, order entry, and hospital systems

- Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, families/significant others, physicians and coworkers.

- Manages physical resources (supplies and equipment) appropriately, assuring that adequate supplies and equipment are available and in good working order.
- Assesses, plans, organizes, implements, directs, evaluates and revises care delivery to individuals and groups of patients in a timely manner; based on the health status, standards of care, age and developmental level, and language skills of the patient(s).

Minimum Requirements

- BLS
-
- Compliant with PPD requirements.

- Completion of the chemotherapeutic administration class for those nurses administering chemotherapy, prior to administering such medications.

- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Minimum $34.00
