Ultrasound Technologist Student Intern in Lebanon, Indiana at Witham Health Services

The Ultrasound Intern is under the direction of an Ultrasound Technologist who assists the Ultrasound Technologist with direct and indirect clerical and patient care responsibilities involved in performance of ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g. vascular, abdominal and pelvic sonograms, for patients as ordered. May perform other administrative and clinical duties as needed for the needs of the department and/or organization.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
• Minimum of one semester formal Ultrasound education that includes at least one semester of clinical Ultrasound experience.
• Prefer applicant in final year of clinicals.
• Must be ARDMS registered within 12 months of date of hire.
• Willing to obtain ARDMS registered in OB/GYN within 24 months of date of hire.
• Has the potential to become registered in other ultrasound specific areas (breast, vascular, etc).
• Previous experience desirable.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Willing to work additional hours when requested by supervisor; available for callback on scheduled weekends/weekdays.
• Must be competent in all functions related to ultrasound ACR accreditation.
• Willing to assist the Lead Ultrasound Technologist with various tasks.
• Works with the radiologist to ensure proper scanning protocol is followed.
