JOB SUMMARY

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of building features such as walls,
ceilings, floors, etc.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Reads blueprints, plans, and documents to determine the requirements for the
installation and repair of building features
2. Installs metal & wood framing systems for walls, bulkheads, ceilings, etc.
3. Installs gypsum board on new and existing framing systems
4. Installs metal door & window frames in new and existing wall structures
5. Installs suspended acoustical ceiling systems
6. Prepares concrete subflooring for the application of finished flooring materials
7. Installs vinyl composition tile, carpet squares, cove base, and other similar finished
flooring materials
8. Installs wood, metal, & vinyl moldings, trims, railings, etc.
9. Makes field adjustments as necessary for the installation and repair of building
features
10. Assembles and installs furniture, wall-mounted cabinetry & shelving, wall & ceilingmounted equipment brackets, minor medical equipment, mirrors, etc.
11. Assists with cabinet-making duties as required
12. Submits requests for maintaining a sufficient level of basic construction supplies for
the timely completion of routine tasks and special projects
13. Maintains equipment in good work ordering
14. Keeps work areas clean, orderly, and safe
15. Maintains established department policies, procedures, and quality standards
16. Appropriately informs departmental management of any problems relating to their
work or with any other areas
17. Performs other duties as required or assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent
Experience: Three (3) years of proven relevant construction carpentry experience at the
Journeyman level, preferably in the healthcare or related industry
Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort (lift and carry up to 50 pounds)
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing and walking
Pushes and pulls and/or moves and lifts heavy equipment and
supplies
Manual dexterity and mobility
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
