About This Position

Description:

Reid and Riege, P.C., a mid-sized Connecticut law firm with a well-established trusts and estates practice, seeks a self-motivated individual to assist in administering estates and trusts to join our downtown Hartford office. Job Responsibilities

  • Assisting with estate and trust administration tasks, including preparing probate court forms, inventories, accountings, and Connecticut and Federal estate tax returns; gathering information for estate and trust income tax returns; and coordinating asset distributions.
  • Communicating with clients regarding timing of estate and trust administration tasks, identifying and gathering data and asset information, and responding to client requests in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Coordinating with client advisors and external vendors to open and close accounts and gather asset and tax reporting data in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborating with attorneys and other members of the trusts and estates practice group to deliver superior client service.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree, Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services, such as a bank trust environment or an accounting firm, or as a paralegal in trust and estate administration (preferred).
  • Proficiency in reading financial and brokerage reports.
  • Strong quantitative skills and mathematically adept.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong PC skills including Word and Excel.
